What is Lean Manufacturing?
Atronix facilities make use of lean manufacturing processes and techniques to ensure our ability to deliver the highest quality products efficiently at the lowest possible cost. The use of Lean Manufacturing is immediately compatible with the ISO 9001 Quality Objective of "continuous improvement". Wikipedia aptly defines lean manufacturing as follows.
"Lean manufacturing or lean production, which is often known simply as "Lean", is a production practice that considers the expenditure of resources for any goal other than the creation of value for the end customer to be wasteful, and thus a target for elimination."
Working from the perspective of our customers, Atronix defines "value" oriented processes as any action or process that a customer would be willing to pay for. This approach results in achieving the key objective of creating more value with less work. Each assembly and all Atronix standardized manufacturing processes are defined in terms of the process flow required to yield the product exactly as specified by each customer, using the appropriate tools and techniques, and eliminating all non-value-add operations. With lean manufacturing, Atronix sees opportunity for continuous improvement by empowering operators to contribute ideas for further reduction in time required to perform operations using various techniques including the use of alternative or automated tooling or fixtures, material processing methods which reduce waste, and other learned methods. The results speak for themselves with increasing efficiency, decreasing waste, and using empirical methods to decide what matters, rather than uncritically accepting pre-existing ideas.
Realizing Lean Manufacturing Advantages
Atronix de Mexico operates using strict Lean Manufacturing methods for all product assembly. Atronix lean manufacturing enables Atronix to process orders or all sizes from a few, or even one piece to work orders for tens of thousands of assemblies with high levels of efficiency and lowest costs. Techniques combine the advantages gained from the use of standards such as well managed process standards for repeatability, 5S, kanban, poke-a-yoke and Kaizen improvement teams. Atronix employees from the top down are trained in lean manufacturing techniques and empowered to drive the continuous improvement process.
